Locke Mountain Lodge on Willow Creek is a Custom Luxury Log Home on 57.5 acres bordering San Isabel National Forest with caretaker / guest house and large toy shed/shop.
The 57.5 acres mountain property is easily accessed via well maintained county roads and borders San Isabel National Forest int the Wet Mountains of Colorado. With varied terrain and vegetation the lodge sit on a high spot to take advantage of the views of the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountain range. Although the current owner never had horses the property would provide substantial grazing land and would be a great starting point for trail rides into the adjacent national forest lands. Located in Eastern Custer County Colorado it is about 90 minutes to Colorado Springs and its shopping and airport. Only about 60 minutes to Pueblo and less than that to Canon City (through beautiful scenery) go shopping is not a chore. The closest town is the county seat of Westcliffe Colorado and has access to the major needs of groceries, banking, Post Office, schools, library, restaurants, movies, music and art festivals and many other activities.
Boasting over 5400 square feet of finished living space the lodge is designed with an open floor plan and floor to ceiling prow front windows to take advantage of the view. The kitchen, dining, great room is graced by a large stone fireplace, hardwood floors and surround sound speakers. The kitchen area boasts custom cabinets, granite counter tops, two ovens, built in cooktop, built in microwave, dish washer, 2 sinks and a large island/breakfast bar. The conveniently located pantry provides even more storage for your culinary delights. The master suite is also located on the main floor. With 2 closets an exit door to the back deck, an exquisite bath with large shower, jetted tub, double sinks and fine lighting it lacks nothing. The second floor has a large open loft area currently used as office space but would be a fine are for many other uses. There are 2 bedroom on this floor and a large bath with 2 sinks and 2 showers. The bottom level is a walk out basement with a recreation room complete with pool table and workout equipment. The dry sauna and steam shower are located on this floor along with the home theater and another bedroom and bathroom.
The guest cabin has a complete kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, family room and wine cellar. The hot tub sits on the deck of the guest cabin which is connected to the main lodge by a walkway. The views from the guest cabin and hot tub are just as magnificent as from the lodge.
There is a large solar hydraulic system that supplements the hot water heating system providing for an ecologically friendly property. There is a 2 car detached garage near the lodge and a large 36 ft X 48 ft shop with concrete floor for all of the mountain toys the owner may want.
The opportunity for outdoor recreation in the area spans a large list. While some of the following pursuits can be found out the door of the lodge others are just a short drive away. I will list them in no particular order; hiking, hunting, rock climbing, star gazing, horseback riding, photography, white water rafting, mountain climbing, fishing, mountain biking, ATV riding, snowmobiling, site seeing and the list goes on.
